O ex-astro do atletismo, Usain Bolt, se tornou pai pela primeira vez depois que sua mulher, Kasi Bennett, deu á luz uma menina, informou a imprensa jamaicana nesta segunda-feira.
O primeiro-ministro jamaicano, Andrew Holness, confirmou o nascimento nas redes sociais. "Parabéns para a lenda do 'sprint' Usain Bolt e Kasi Bennett pela chegada da garotinha", escreveu Holness no Twitter.
A mídia local informou que a filha do casal nasceu no domingo, mas nenhum detalhe foi divulgado até o momento.
Bolt, de 33 anos, revelou via redes sociais em março que estava esperando uma filha com Bennett e alertou em tom de brincadeira para que os futuros pretendentes de sua filha ficassem longe dela.
"Qualquer homem! Qualquer garoto! Não brinque comigo!", disparou o vencedor de oito medalhas de ouro olímpicas, também conhecido por seu bom humor.
Bolt, recordista mundial dos 100 e 200 metros, se aposentou do atletismo em 2017 após uma década de reinado no sprint masculino.
Na Rio-2016, o jamaicano se tornou o único atleta a conquistar os títulos de 100 e 200 metros em três Jogos Olímpicos consecutivos.
