Foram divulgadas nesta terça-feira as indicações para o 32º Film Independent Spirit Awards, que premia filmes independentes – e Aquarius concorre na categoria de melhor filme estrangeiro. A produção dirigida por Kléber Mendonça Filho e estrelada por Sônia Braga disputa o prêmio com Chevalier (Grécia), My golden days (França), Toni Erdmann (Alemanha/Romênia) e Sob a sombra (Irã/Grã-Bretanha). Este último já foi exibido em Porto Alegre dentro da programação do Fanspoa 2016.
A cerimônia de premiação do Film Independent Spirit Awards será no dia 25 de fevereiro de 2017, na noite anterior ao Oscar. Os filmes com maior número de indicações são American honey e Moonlight, que disputam seis troféus cada.
